Privacy Policy

Who I am

CraftCam (“the app”) is made by Lucas, an independent developer. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean the developer of CraftCam. This policy covers the CraftCam app for iPhone and this website. If you have any questions, email [email protected].

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you create with CraftCam is stored in the app's own storage on your device. That includes your recordings and photos, your projects, your teleprompter scripts and your settings. None of it is uploaded to me or to any server I run.

• Save to Photos. If you turn this on, CraftCam adds a copy of each take to your Photos library.
• Sharing and exporting. When you share or export a file, you choose where it goes using the iOS share sheet. From then on, the privacy policy of the app or service you choose applies.
• Device backups. Depending on your iOS settings, app data may be included in your iCloud or computer backups. Apple handles those backups.

Permissions

CraftCam asks for three permissions, and only uses them for the reasons below. You can change them at any time in the iOS Settings app.

• Camera, to record video and take photos.
• Microphone, to record sound with your video. This one is optional. Without it, videos are silent.
• Photos, add only, to save your takes to your library. CraftCam can't see or read the photos already in your library.

CraftCam doesn't ask for your location, your contacts or permission to track you.

Purchases

CraftCam Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes every payment, and I never see your name, payment card or Apple Account details.

To check whether Pro is unlocked, and to let you restore a purchase on another device, CraftCam uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives:

• an anonymous ID created by the app, which isn't linked to your name, email or Apple Account;
• your purchase history for CraftCam, such as which plan you bought, when, and the transaction details from the App Store;
• the technical information needed to handle the request, such as the app version, iOS version, your locale and currency, and your IP address.

This information is used to verify purchases, prevent fraud, restore Pro on your devices and show me overall sales figures. It isn't used for advertising or to track you across other apps. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy and Apple's privacy policy.

What I don't do

• I don't require an account or sign-in.
• I don't show ads or include any advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
• I don't track you across apps or websites, and I don't access your device's advertising identifier.
• I don't sell or rent your information to anyone.

When you email me

If you contact me, I receive your email address and whatever you write. I only use it to reply to you and to improve CraftCam. I don't add you to any mailing list, and you can ask me to delete our conversation at any time.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Like any website, the hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, for security and reliability. Download links take you to the App Store, where Apple's privacy policy applies.

Children

CraftCam isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal information from them. The app doesn't collect personal information from anyone.

Your choices

• You can delete any take or project inside the app. Deleting the app removes everything stored in its storage on your iPhone. Copies you've saved to Photos or shared elsewhere aren't affected.
• You can turn off any permission in the iOS Settings app.
• If you'd like the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat deleted, email me. Deleting it doesn't cancel an active subscription, which you manage in your Apple Account settings.

Changes to this policy

If the way CraftCam handles data changes, I'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
